A combination jab of Covid-19 and the influenza or flu vaccination application from Moderna, entitled mRNA-1083, has been withdrawn.

This action occurred after the company has consultation with the FDA, presumably indicating to them that its not going to be approved.

“The Company plans to resubmit the [application] later this year, after vaccine efficacy data from the ongoing Phase 3 trial of its investigational seasonal influenza vaccine, mRNA-1010, are available,” Moderna stated. “Moderna continues to expect interim data from the mRNA-1010 trial to be available this summer.”

Moderna was targeting the over 50 population with mRNA-1083. 

Not surprisingly, Moderna’s announcement was a day after FDA officials announced that they would not approve COVID-19 vaccines for \Americans without trial data showing that the benefits of the shots outweigh the risks of it.

“We want to know more about what the products are doing, especially as we enter the seventh, eighth, ninth doses,” Dr. Vinay Prasad, head of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, said at a town hall.

This is likely confusing to a lot of the drug manufacturers and some in the general public as the FDA has never done their jobs properly for an entire lifetime or longer.
