Surprisingly, the Trump administration has granted a Fast Track designation to an extremely controversial self-amplifying mRNA (sa-mRNA) vaccine prospect that targets the H5N1 avian influenza virus.

In Phase 1 trials the vaccine, ARCT-2304 which was developed by Arcturus Therapeutics, has been positioned by federal health authorities as a front-line defense against a potential bird flu pandemic.

The designation was announced on April 10 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services and its Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA). Fast Track designations from the FDA expedites the review of vaccines and drugs intended for serious or life-threatening conditions that demonstrate the potential to address unmet medical needs. The goal is to allow for faster delivery of a vaccine or drug to patients by reducing the government oversights required to do so.

The ARCT-2304 prospect is not like traditional mRNA vaccines as it uses a self-replicating mRNA platform, which means the genetic material continues to reproduce inside the recipient’s cells to boost production of virus-fighting proteins. Arcturus, the vaccine developer, claims this results in a stronger immune response with smaller doses.

This experimental technology, dubbed STARR® and powered by Arcturus’ proprietary LUNAR® delivery system, allows the vaccine to be freeze-dried and stored in refrigerators, avoiding the ultra-cold storage problems that plagued early COVID-19 rollouts.

Federal taxpayers are paying for this R&D effort. ARCT-2304 is being developed under a BARDA contract (No. 75A50122C0007), something an increasing number of taxpayers are tired of seeing as Big Pharma wins and we The People are the guinea pigs for their experiments. BARDA, which is the same agency involved in Operation Warp Speed under the previous Trump term where Covid-19 was the big bad enemy to fear, has been given unprecedented authority to fund and fast-track pandemic-related vaccines and therapeutics.

During the Covid-19 “pandemic” many people reported side effects from mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, such as those from Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, leading to widespread complaints. These complaints continue with many having been vaccine injured with permanent or chronic side effects from the vaccine. Some have even questioned if it qualified as a vaccine. 

mRNA vaccines operate by instructing cells to produce a piece of a virus’s spike protein, triggering an immune response. These spike proteins themselves are suspected of spreading new versions of viruses and much worse.
